Hello! Despite the (possibly) strings and trucks, the largest contributor, the type of wood is certainly a great influence on the tone and sustain. Also, the thickness and type of wood finish will have a role in how the body and neck have resonance that the overall sound of the instrument. Check http://www.theguitarfiles.com/modules.ph ... for a thorough look at the different types of neck and wooden handle, and their respective properties. As a rule, lighter woods such as maple density of the resonance of the body and provides improved support, but a heavy wood such as mahogany is sometimes desirable for a warmer tone, stronger. Check http://web.archive.org/web/2004061716494 ... For more detailed information about the types of wood. Personally, I feel better with lighter wood and stacked single-coil humbucker humbucker and preferred size of the forest heavy and full of single coils. Of course, your choice of category, do not worry, people like me who search for items, instead you find your guitar questions! BestRegards, Dana
